The Disappearing Halloween Night

Chapter 1

In all neighbourhoods there’s a house different from the other ones so of course that’s what happened in the neighbourhood of Carolina, Patricia, Yang, Lucia, Jaime and Miguel, six friends. They all had the same age, 10 years old. It was Halloween night, the six friends decided to go out, ask for sweets and have some fun.

So they went out with some bags to collect the sweets. They asked to their neighbours, that give them lots of sweets and after that house, in a corner, they saw the Haunted House. The house had a banner that said in capital letters: KEEP OUT OR YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THE CONSECUENSES. The children prefer to leave it because their parents told them that it was dangerous, but they still had curiosity to see what was inside the haunted house.

Chapter 2

After collecting sweets for five minutes the boys went to their houses and the girls went to Carolina´s house to do a sleep over. They were talking about the haunted house nearly all night. They asked what things could have that house and why there was a banner that put that message. It was very strange. The next morning the girls had breakfast and went to the park were they had a rumble with the boys. The boys came when suddenly Lucia and Patricia saw a shadow coming from the house. They were scared, they quickly told their friends. The other ones were rather more scared than Patricia and Lucia that were the ones who saw the shadow. They all went running to the centre of the village. What was that? Said Yang, the most shy of the friends. Maybe it was just a squirrel, said Miguel. Or maybe just the shadows of the leaves of the tree, said Jaime. They went, from the centre of the village, walking home. While they went home they saw a man that was drunk, he was walking like a zombie, and he was bumping into people and into the walls. When they got home, each one, told his parents about the man that they saw. Their parents told them that from now on they need to go to the village with an adult. We tell you this because it’s dangerous, not just the haunted house but also the people. In the world there are bad people and we don’t want you to be hurt or kidnapped by any bad man or woman. The six friends were thinking about what their parents said the shadow, the man and the haunted house. Jaime had spent all the afternoon seeing a program about how to catch ghosts on television. At dinner time Patricia didn’t wanted to eat, she was not hungry, she was thoughtful, and she was asking herself what would happen if that happens to her. The children went to sleep, but Lucia couldn’t forget the shadow. What was it, was it a person, an animal, an object that had moved with the wind? Lucia asked herself lots of times until she fell asleep.

Next morning in the house of Yang, in television, in the news they were talking about a man that had kidnapped a kid. Yang told all his friends but apart from that, Carolina said that yesterday they heard a scream that came from the haunted house. The children called the police, so the police came as quickly as they could. They entered the house and inside the house they found...A CORPSE!! The police man investigated while the parents of the children went out of their houses because the noise. The next morning Patricia and Carolina woke up together because Patricia, at night went to Carolina’s house. Patricia went to his house and saw that their parents were DEAD! Of course they called the police and the police found a bloody knife. The day was very sad but passed quickly. Patricia stayed to sleep in Yang´s house, Miguel went to sleep, but he didn’t know his parents were going to die that night. The police man stayed all the night but they didn’t see the murder of the parents of Miguel. Each night they killed somebody´s parents. In the next days the parents of the six friends and more people died. They decided to put all the children that they didn’t have parents, to adoption. So, maybe they didn’t have their real parents but the new parents were very kind. They even found a neighbourhood were the six friends could be together and with more children, but they didn’t know that their parents were murderers...
